Julianne is a creative problems solver who views technology as a means of connecting us to and accessing our bodies more deeply. She currently consults with fashion, technology and sports apparel clients on novel body designs, and has contributed to design and technology work over the last two years at Manufacture New York, and position as Creative Adviser of Descience.
Julianne’s professional interest in innovative design was informed by early career experiences at Burberry, a NASA Fellowship and MIT wearables start up in India.
She was the founding member of the Apparel Innovation Team at New Balance in 2011 where she developed active and passive technology solutions for elite athletes, military Special Forces, and the everyday athlete. Through her work in the sports industry she is able to use her personal passion in deep research to uncover opportunities for novel products.
Julianne mentors at the MIT Media Lab and has taught “New Products for Performance Sports” at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned her Masters Degree in Industrial Design.
